'Be a Good Boy' Skateboard (Inspired by 'A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night')

A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night (2014, Dir. Lily Ann Amirpour) is a black and white Iranian spaghetti horror film – cool, smart and darkly funny. The art on this limited edition custom skateboard focusses on the film’s central character, “The Girl”, existing in a desolate Iranian town where her loneliness and the baked-in misogyny of the male characters create an oppressive atmosphere throughout the film. Danny Jenkins has interpreted a scene where The Girl hunts and terrorises a young street boy, relieving him of his treasured skateboard whilst sparing his life – on the condition that he “be a good boy”. The artwork’s graphic novel treatment exploits the cinematography’s dense, monochrome cimematography.
